Bumpus Tournament

The HMS Lady Panthers played great softball on Friday and Saturday outscoring their opponents 56 -10 to get to the Championship game of the Bumpus Tournament.

In the First elimination game against Brookwood, HMS got their first out of the park Home Run off the bat of Shelby Brown on a 200 ft fence. The 220 ft home run helped HMS on to their 8-3 win and earned Brown a position on All Tournament along with Madison Deluka off the power of her arm over the weekend.

In the final game, they met a GREAT Thompson Team who went through the tournament undefeated as well.

They scored first with a great hitting offense and the lead grew to 7 - 0 before a double in the 5th by Wray set her up to be driven in by Deluka then the Panthers quickly put two more on the board. Unfortunately a couple of errors and some more great hitting put 3 more on the board for Thompson.

The game ended with the score of 10 - 3 with Thompson taking home the first place trophy. The Lady Panthers took home a very respectable 2nd.

The coming week has the Lady Panthers playing at Rudd on Monday, at Bragg on Tuesday, then at home on Wednesday against Pleasant Grove at 4:30 and Rudd at 6:00 before finishing the week up at Mountain Brook at another Weekend Tournament!

Another Win for the HMS Lady Panthers!

HMS took on Hillcrest Middle School on Thursday. Hillcrest came out strong scoring 3 in the first inning. The Panthers matched them in the bottom of the inning and both teams were pretty even till the bats came alive for the Panthers!

Both Delucka and Brown had great nights on the rubber to lead HMS to a 12 - 6 victory and make it 2-0 for the Panther's season.

HMS Plays in the Bumpus Tournament this weekend at Hoover Central.

They play Homewood at 4:30, then on Saturday they play Martin at 9:00am, followed by Bumpus at 11:00am.

HMS Lady Panthers Win Big!!

The HMS Lady Panthers took on Bottenfield Middle School on their Home Turf and pulled out the win by the score of 18 - 2.

Delaney Wray was lead off and scored the first run of the season, followed closely by Morgan. The big hits of the night were Kayla McDowell's slam to center and Shelby Brown's Double to Center.

Madison Deluka was the starting Pitcher and allowed no hits with one walk. In relief, Jenny Mellown allowed 2 runs but pitched a great game as well.

Hueytown's next game is Thursday, February 25th at 4:30. The game will be at Allison Bonnett so come support our Lady Panthers!
