03/28-29 Bumpus Tournament 2-2 record
The team had a rough tournament coming off the loss to N Jefferson. Starting off with a loss to Pizitz 2-1, they went on to beat Thompson 6-1 with a solo Home Run off the bat of Heather J. Then they beat Springville 10 - 0 which featured a 3 run Home Run from Megan W. They went on from there losing to Clay in elimination 1-0.

This game took 10 innings to complete and was won off a Home Run by Janeacka L that easily cleared a 200 ft fence in center field. Way to go!

HMS finally loses again to Pleasant Grove in 10 innings.
03/7-8 HMS over Mtn Brook Tourney
HMS won two games before the games was cancelled on Saturday due to snow. Tournament play was halted due to state rules, but before the tournament could be cancelled, HMS put 2 over the fence in the first inning against Homewood off the bats of Megan W and Janeacka L leading to that 8-1 Victory. They then played Demopolis and continued the winning streak with a 9-2 victory.

HMS got back the bats and pulled off the win against North Jefferson.
02/27 HMS 2 Pleasant Grove 8
The strong bats of HMS fell off today as did the defense. HMS suffered their first loss and the first points scored against the team.
Feb 26 HMS 11 Bragg 0
In the first regulation game, the HMS softball team took on Bragg Middle School. Last Year's County Champions fell to HMS 11-0 in 5 innings. The game was played at Allison Bonnett park. This marks 4 games in which HMS has not allowed their opponents to score!
Feb 22-23 Dothan
The HMS Softball Team traveled to Dothan to participate in the Northview Invitational Tournament. After a Friday night rain out, the team began early Saturday morning with a 9-0 win over Berry Middle School. Then in the first game of elimination, they defeated Bumpus Middle School 7-0. The team then disposed of Mountain Brook Middle 5-0 in the championship game. The team scored a total of 21 runs while giving up zero. Great hitting and pitching carried the team through their first three wins.
